Meet the Club Manager

Colin

I joined B2R Dartford, in September 2022 having not run since I discovered what a pub was in my late teens.

My wife was the one who had the idea to join to get fit before 50 (just about managed it) so we joined together and encouraged each other every step of the way. After week one of beginners I was questioning if it was the right thing to do, could I complete this course? With the encouragement of the club, the friendliness of everyone and my wife by my side I decided to at least stick it out until the end of the beginner’s course.

The more I learnt and the more I ran, the more I was enjoying it, yes, I had my blips, everyone does from time to time, but the FOMO always got the better of me and by week 8 I ran my first FULL 5k with no issues.

A few months after graduating, a 10k course was offered, how could I say no, I was in love with running now and 10k was the obvious next step. I had come to realise that running wasn’t just getting me fit, but the company of Team Green was fun, friendly and worth every minute.

I now run 3 times a week, have ran a few 10k runs, including the Run Barbados 40th anniversary 10k run for my 50th
birthday (yes, we ran a 10k whilst on holiday in 30+ degree heat!)

I love running and chatting with everyone and in early 2025 became a Team Leader before being asked to become the club Manager.

You can meet me and your future clubmates by joining our fun, vibrant, social online Facebook group before even stepping out the door.

If you are not on FB, don't worry our office team are on hand to help you with any queries and I look forward to meeting you at a club session soon!
