Matt

I have been a member since September 2020, dragged along by my wife, as she wanted to do something to get fit after being shut in during the first lockdown. I wasn't keen on the idea at first as I didn't class myself as a runner and thought it was going to be full of athletic professional runners. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. It was such a welcoming group of people just like me, so much fun, laughter and have made so many friends as a result of joining the club. It was the best thing I could have done.

My favourite personal running moment was completing my first Half Marathon. I always said I would never do anything more than 5k, so this was a massive achievement for me. I'm now in training for my first Ultra Marathon in 2024. All started from that first 5k!

Best advice I received which I would like to pass on… don’t worry what everyone
else around you is doing, run your own pace and be proud of each achievement

You can meet me and your future clubmates by joining our fun, vibrant, social online Facebook group before even stepping out the door.

If you are not on FB, don't worry our office team are on hand to help you with any queries and I look forward to meeting you at a club session soon!
